My role within this new business unit is to lead, develop, set up systems, processes, strategic planning, budget forecasting and managing all aspects of the recycled and virgin aggregates supply chain, programming, reporting and claiming activities. Other responsibilities include:Pricing, tendering and quoting of work.Manage cost estimates for the source properties from site to end user while ensuring optimal operations efficiencies throughout all projects.Review all financial information including costs to carry out projects.Negotiate rates with supplier or subcontractors.Assist department managers in providing leadership and support with co-ordination and monitoring of department projects associated with the business.Conduct client or customer engagement.

Operations Management• Performs daily tasks such as management of asphalt paving operations, delivers major road corridor maintenance contract requirements, optimizing resource use and achieving target results within the department.Planning, methodology and estimates• Participate in the weekly planning of site specifics project paving methodology, budgets and programme for surfacing.• Work with Contract Manager or Estimator on estimates and tenders for contracts and variations. Pricing of major and minor external works including subdivisions and car parks.Outcome Management• Manages contractual issues, project documentations and preparation of monthly progress claims.• Develop relationships with internal and external client representatives, resolving contractual or technical issues and ensuring effective customer service. Maintains good working relationships with all affected internal and external parties.Resource Management• Manages the allocation of people, plant, technology and resources to achieve outcomes through daily planning, costing and job sheets.Financial Management• Highly involve in month end financial review which includes interpreting data from transaction analysis, project movement reports and financial statements. Provide cost commentary, prepares budget and asphalt tonnage forecasts.

• Involves in mix design processes for various asphalt products such as OGPA, SMA and NAS.• Performs daily a wide variety of tests that includes binder content and grading, maximum theoretical density, Marshall/gyratory compaction of bituminous material and all other IANZ accredited tests such as bitumen, asphalt and aggregates testing.• Competently operates Nuclear Density Meter Gauge on asphalt pavement and base course material to ensure compaction and air voids within the specifications or standards.• Other site testing responsibilities include Bitumen Sprayer Testing, Texture of pavement through Sand Circle Method and Permeability of Porous Asphalt.• Constantly engage with clients on feedback and progress on laboratory and site testing during most major projects.• Ability to carry out duty professionally and to a highest standard in the laboratory and on site servicing internal or external clients.
