I am Samuel Chlpek, a marketing professional with a deep connection to the tourism and hospitality industry. My journey began at the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Economics in Bratislava, where I completed all three levels of study. My PhD research explored the significance of family businesses in fostering regional development in Slovakia—a topic that continues to inspire me.Throughout my career, I’ve combined academic expertise with hands-on experience in digital marketing, project management, and content creation. As a blogger, my blog ranked among Slovakia’s top five in gastronomy in 2017. In 2019, I was selected as a Grow with Google Student Ambassador, which fueled my passion for teaching. I now share my knowledge as a lecturer at the Akadémia hoteliera, empowering tourism professionals with tailored marketing skills.I’ve contributed to successful projects, including Whisky Fest Bratislava, the Slovak Barista Championship (2018 & 2019), the World Spirits Festival Košice, and the Folklore Festival Východná (2019–2024). These initiatives have deepened my connection to Slovakia’s tourism and cultural sectors.I’ve also had the privilege of serving as director of the Czech-Slovak edition of the internationally acclaimed Standart coffee magazine, where I explored the world of specialty coffee. At the same time, I collaborated with the Slovak Republic Embassy in Lisbon as a junior assistant, promoting Slovakia’s tourism potential during the Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa. Both experiences broadened my perspective on cultural representation and international marketing.I am the recipient of the Student Personality of Tourism award (2020) and a nominee for Slovakia’s Student Personality of the Year (2021/2022). I’m also a member of the Specialty Coffee Association and the International Family Business Center, reflecting my professional and personal passions.Currently, I work at the National Centre of Culture (NOC) under Slovakia’s Ministry of Culture, specializing in digital marketing and social media. Here, I leverage my expertise to drive digital transformation and engagement in the cultural sector. At my core, I believe marketing is about creating meaningful connections. My mission is to inspire others to explore Slovakia’s treasures and empower businesses to share their unique stories in a digital world.
