Before joining TGB he was Associate to the Hon Justice Hall at the WA Supreme Court, and a State Prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia.He is experienced counsel.He has undertaken counsel work in all jurisdictions in Adelaide and Perth, and at the WA DPP he prosecuted serious crime on behalf of the State of WA. As a solicitor Samuel managed files dealing with the following charges, - Possession of Child Exploitation Material- Depravation of liberty- Wilful and unlawful destruction of evidence- Aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm- Aggravated unlawful possession of firearms- Aggravated robbery- Manufacture of a prohibited drug- Threats to kill- Unlawfully carrying firearms while possessing a prohibited drug- Possession of prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply- Cultivation of a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply- Aggravated burglary .Samuel also managed complex files, particularly volume crime and drug prosecutions, with multiple charges, and multiple accused. He had a boutique practise in prosecutions of persons with a serious mental illness and the issues that arise under the Criminal Law (mentally Impaired Accused) Act 1996 and in the public interest.
