The world is on fire but we’re still buying shoes? That is exactly why I do what I do. But reinventing the shoe from the ground up is no mean feat ;) When I told my university professor I was going to be designing an eco-friendly shoe for my final bachelor’s project, “no you’re not” was his response. I was told to go away over the holiday and think of another problem to solve… You may have worked out by now, I persisted.This persistence has led to the Orba Ghost sneaker being awarded international and local design awards.My journey into design has given me a unique perspective that combines the philosophies of a traditional product-centered R&D process in the consumer design space and the efficient agile systems thinking of an eCommerce start-up. I have always been interested in the digital user experience space and solving user problems with design thinking frameworks is the path I’m on in 2022.
