Develop and design machines and/or part of machines, using Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering software, according specification given by the guideline of the Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) solutionsMODEL BASED DESIGN FIELD-Optimize part of machines using FEM analysis (static, dynamic) and mechatronic simulations by dedicated software package (MATLAB, SIMULINK, SIMSCAPE, ANSYS, MORe)-Validate the simulation results as super-user reference for R&D EDM analysis-Promote actively modeling/simulation and validation into the R&D team-Frequency analysis of mechatronic systems and optimization of parameters according to robust stability criteria (H-infinity)-Real-time controller design and implementation in PLC (Beckhoff)INNOVATION AND RESEARCH FIELD-Lead at the chance mid-complex project (as R&D feasibility project and/or Innosuisse project) -Proposing and supervising feasibility projects (bachelor's and master's) keeping partnership with universities and technical schools (ETH, HEIG-VD, SUPSI, SSST)TEST AND VALIDATION FIELD-Define, in collaboration with the Design Validation Team, the test plans for prototypes or approval of component/part of machine/machines-Support the test activities for prototypes of components/part of machine/machines in order to permit the validation of the models/simulations-Harmonizes test/measures in accordance to international standard DIN ISO 230-1, Test code for machine toolsMACHINES DESIGN FIELD-Analysis and pre-study with the project managers (feasibility study)-Develop (3D models and 2D drawings) part of new machines using the specific experience in designing machine tools and knowledge of machine architecture (3-5 axis) and machine system engineering-Work in close relationship with suppliers and with the members of the other depts. (technical, production, purchasing) sustaining the multidisciplinary approach and industrialization of the products
