Nfv Cloud Engineer
Onboarding virtualized 5G Core Network functions on VMware NFV platform.I’m part of the engineering team that drives the evolution of TIM mobile network to a cloud-based reality. We design, test, and implement new features, from bare metal servers and switches all the way to the virtual infrastructure and support other departments with the deployment of their VNFs on top of our cloud. We also explore new paradigms such as Kubernetes and try to conciliate them with the existing “telco-cloud” world.Recently, I’ve been inserted in a new and fresh team that is challenged to redesign all the existing automations in a cloud-native, hyperscaler-oriented way and this is giving me the chance to play with bleeding-edge technologies such as ClusterAPI or Nephio.

Leading development of a hybrid cloud-based testbed infrastructure for modern elevator systems.Upon a successful proof-of-concept, I was asked to lead a small team of developers and realize a microservices-based testbed consisting of two parts: an infrastructure foundation that could run both on the customer’s premise and in Azure Pipeline, and an orchestrator microservice to test the functionalities of all the moving parts involved, as well as mocking missing ones. The orchestrator was written from the scratch in Python and centered around the structure of a LL(1) interpreter, providing robustness and ease of development. Apart from coding, my duties included project coordination and customer relations. Eventually I decided to leave the position to better focus on university.
