I have been lucky enough to have done this in both my professional and personal life. Working in a special needs environment for nearly nine years has not only developed my knowledge and skills base immensely, but has also enriched me immeasurably as a person. In particular I have learnt so much about humility, determination and love through working with some incredible students, parents and other professionals.I have excellent inter-personal skills, and become profficient in the use of augmentative communication strategies, such as Makaton and PECs. I am skilled in ICT and social media and confident in developing these skills in others. I am a calm and patient teacher with a creative and logical mind, which enables me to be an excellent problem-solver.My other main passion in life is music; creating, performing and consuming. Many years of writing and performing my own music has enabled it to be my primary outlet for expression and a bridge for engagement. It is my belief that, whether we feel it or not, the rhythms of life and music are inextricably linked and that the understanding of one can help us to understand and deal with the other.Key skills: COMMUNICATION, CREATIVITY, ORGANISATIONAL, PROBLEM-SOLVING, ICT.
