Based within the Research Center for Sustainable Peace (RCSP), Japan’s top academic research center focusing on international human rights law and policy, the project focused on how the human rights situation in Myanmar influenced the investment and reputational risk strategies of Japanese companies operating in the post-coup economy.The outcome of the project is a comprehensive research report titled "What the Myanmar Coup Means for Japan: Implications for Foreign Policy & International Business”, which was published by the Research Center in May 2023, and submitted to the United Nations Working Group on Business & Human Rights ahead of its official country visit to Japan from July-August 2023.
