Empowering others to share tea ceremonies in yoga studios, schools, hospitals, corporate, prisons and more.Nelson Mandela's words echo throughout my career as well as define my direction. "Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronisingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future." Combining experience across a range of fields including education, international humanitarian aid, trauma-formed psychosocial therapy, mindfulness-based training, case management, and youth services to name a few, I bring a truly unique perspective and skill set to a role. The common thread that weaves through every part of my journey is the search for truth, empathy and humanity; with the hope that within these lie the tools for us to break free from the shared bonds of human suffering. This shared suffering takes on different forms in all of our lives - from the refugee struggling to start a new life to the child who feels left behind in the classroom. Regardless of the form or the cause, be it social, political, financial, emotional or mental, I believe that each human has the ability to face and overcome their trials... We merely need to be pointed in the right direction. After a decade of study, employment and seeking, I am now developing and introducing mindfulness-based training and education, through tea ceremony. To me, this is the more efficacious response to the world we live in.
