Throughout my time at IBI Group (now Arcadis), I have led and contributed to real-time passenger information and GTFS projects with transit agencies across North America. Specific experience includes the following:• Lead the TRANSIT-alerts/realtime product team that includes analysts, project managers, and developers-- TRANSIT-alerts is a cloud-hosted web-based system that uses GTFS as a core input and is used by transit agencies to create, manage, and disseminate service alerts to customers via GTFS-realtime, APIs, the agency website, third-party apps, email/SMS, Twitter/X, and station signs-- TRANSIT-realtime is a cloud-hosted system used by transit agencies to aggregate, monitor, normalize, and disseminate real-time vehicle locations and predictions for all of a transit agency’s service via GTFS-realtime and APIs• Lead the design, development, and/or testing of bespoke software systems for three different transit agencies to ingest real-time train locations to generate and disseminate predicted train arrival times in GTFS-realtime and/or APIs formats• Contribute to real-time passenger information and GTFS data strategy and data quality consulting projects with transit agencies across North America• Contribute to GTFS and GTFS-realtime specification change process• IBI Group was acquired by Arcadis in September 2022

• Led software design, programming, testing, deployment, support, and maintenance of the MBTA’s heavy rail and light rail real-time prediction software. The software generates and publishes real-time predicted train arrival times on signs in stations that serve more than 500,000 weekday trips and in a feed made available to third-party developers• Performed system administrator tasks for the TransitMaster CAD/AVL system• Created GTFS schedule files for bus, subway, commuter rail, and boat services• Investigated reported NextBus problems and coordinated bug fixes with NextBus• Created and maintained documentation for support procedures and recurring processes• Promoted from Intelligent Transportation Systems Coordinator to Programmer Analyst in June 2014

• Developed and applied a new methodology for calculating platform wait time at the London Underground• Developed and implemented original Microsoft Excel macros that make automatically collected train location data from the London Underground rail network more complete and robust

• Revised lecture slides, coordinated guest lectures, and maintained course management website for the graduate course Transportation Systems Analysis: Demand and Economics• Created and graded assignments and exams for 25 students• Led weekly hour-long discussion sessions

• Developed and implemented original Microsoft Excel macros that make automatically collected train location data from the London Underground rail network more complete and robust• Interacted with staff throughout the London Underground in order to understand analytical processes used by the organization

• Developed and implemented methods for using automatically collected data to determine which trains passengers took on the London Underground rail network• Analyzed automatically collected data from the Chicago Transit Authority to evaluate the effect of changes to bus service on ridership and reliability

• Analyzed historical holiday ridership on all CTA bus routes• Determined where the CTA could decrease holiday bus service while still meeting customer demand• Recommended holiday frequency changes could save the CTA approximately $1.5 million annually

• Conducted interviews of prospective students and answered questions from students and parents• Wrote evaluations of prospective students and assisted with special projects as needed

• Conducted theoretical and numerical analysis to determine retailers’ and manufacturers’ profit maximizing decisions when retailers allow customers to special order out-of-stock items

• Worked with two students and analysts at FirstEnergy Corporation, the fifth largest investor-owned electric utility in the nation, to complete a study on the price elasticity of demand for electricity

• Developed a staffing tool in Excel that (1) allowed a company to determine the minimum number of people it must employ to adequately complete given tasks and (2) enabled a company to experiment with different productivity and task data to analyze various scenarios• Client reported a high level of satisfaction with the tool

• Worked with two students to rewrite, revise, and create 35 Maple labs for The College of Wooster math department• Labs have been implemented and well-received by professors and students beginning in the 2006–2007 school year
