Jake the Robot - Created and continuously developed an in-house RPA product - Jake, which allows business units to create, develop, and control their own robotics processes via a web interface, 100% self served. Currently running functions on a 3-stack machine bundle capable of load balancing. Fixed term contractor - Accounting and Control (GSS)

Duties: Oversee payroll, payables month-end accrual journals, financial planning, budget administration, accounting support to subsidiaries of Lifeline New Zealand as required, preparation and presentation of monthly financials for the board, co-ordination of financial audits for individual governmental contracts as well as for the organisation group.Achievements: Consolidated financials from 8 individual Lifeline entities branch during the merge process into one single entity in December 2013, implemented XERO from EXONET and a web-based approval process for all invoices and contracts nationwide within each branch. Introduced new procedures to support the digitization of Invoices/contracts and statements.Consolidated all grant income and implemented new workflows to capture each expenditure spent per grant to allow income recognition based upon actual expenditure, rather than on estimates, for over 100 ongoing grants throughout the organisation.Implemented a cloud based Accounting ERP for cloud reporting and online web based approvals. Full digitisation of physical payable invoices and revenue contracts. Developed and introduced restricted self service and auto-reporting for department managers and relevant stakeholders, reducing FTE count of the finance team by 30%. Migrated helplines CRM data and processes onto the Salesforce Cloud and oversaw the switchover process.

Duties: Oversee pay runs, weekly/fortnightly payroll, PAYE filing/payment (IR345/348), AR/AP ledger postings, month-end accrual journals, fixed assets/depreciation postings, budget administration for 20 of the museum's departments, preparation of monthly financials for the museum board.Achievements: Digitalization of invoices/statements/contracts - Implemented the use of a system separate from our accounting software to scan/index invoices and statements as they pass through the accounts department. Results:(i) Faster attendances to staff inquiries – the virtual copy of document requested brought up within seconds. (ii) Reduced paper waste – copies are no longer are made for each invoice, supporting to MOTAT’s green initiatives by significantly reducing paper waste. (iii) Extended use of the AP function within the finance team – The software allows a virtual copy of any invoice to be opened by anyone with system access, which currently is given to the whole finance team.

Assisted with the migration of the asset registry from the Microsoft exchange server to a new asset management software.

Managed financial and operational data of the SKIDS brand, assisted with the development and maintenance of the online system, regularly prepared financial data necessary for site audits.

Duties: Assurance of timely and accurate royalty payments by franchisees, recorded staff timesheets, prepared financial data for franchise site audits, assisted franchisees with accounting software usage and maintenance, assisted with the development of the online system for child enrolments, and preparation of financial reports.During the time I have also prepared financial & operational data used for the valuation of the SKIDS brand, including the review of all current franchisee agreement & site lease terms.Software/Skills: I worked closely with XERO, MYOB, Quickbooks, and other accounting software while assisting the franchisees with accounting queries. I have also used a lot of Microsoft Excel’s VBA functions. The initial internship was to develop a financial benchmarking system over 6 weeks, allowing comparisons between franchisees’ financial report per site. I used VBA’s macros to align multiple financial statement items onto single spreadsheets.I have also become familiar with SQL databases as I assisted an external IT company with the development of the online enrolment system.
