I was tasked with writing a report for Congress on the 2007 National Strategy for Combating Terrorism, which had just been released by the White House. The goal of Congressional Research Reports is to provide background information and analysis of reports for members of Congress and their staffs. My report compared the 2007 Strategy with previous iterations, provided background information and data relevant to the key points of the document, and analysed the assertions and conclusions reached by the White House.My report was published as CRS Report #34230 2007 National Strategy for Combating Terrorism, Background and Issues for Congress.
