The evening was a huge success, selling out well in advance of the event. As a result, we surveyed the attendees finding that: 100% enjoyed the event and would go again; 92% would recommend it to a friend; and 77% rated it ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.

Nesta is an independent charity with a mission to help people and organisations bring great ideas to life.I worked in the Creative Economy team on the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts. This is a £7 million fund to support collaboration between organisations with arts projects, technology providers, and researchers. The fund is a joint innitiative of Nesta, Arts Council England and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.The team want to see projects that use digital technology to enhance audience reach and/or develop new business models for the arts sector. With a dedicated researcher or research team as part of the three-way collaboration, learning from the project can be captured and disseminated to the wider arts sector.
Enterprise Consultant
I acted as a liaison between the University’s Enterprise Managers (Enterprise Education, External Relations, Technology Transfer, and the SETsquared Incubator) and the student body.Day to day, I facilitated the work of the Student Enterprise Societies: Bristol Entrepreneurs, Bristol Social Enterprise and Enactus Bristol. I helped each society plan speaker events, workshops, enterprise projects and challenges involving local and national businesses. Generally, I took a lead on engaging students in enterprise at University of Bristol; connecting with just under 2,500 students every week.One of the larger events was the Bristol Social Enterprise Conference (www.bseconference.org) which brought together students, staff and social entrepreneurs to discuss and debate issues surrounding social enterprise.I also co-ran Basecamp, our student business incubator, which very closely supported 130 businesses in that academic year.I also provided support and training to students across the University. I gave talks on: Marketing, Sales, Idea generation, Funding and Sponsorship.Further to this, I also helped oversee other student-related enterprise activities including: the New Enterprise Competition, SETsquared competitions and more.
