    - Manual installation of granite/stone countertops- Manual fabrication of stone/granite- Use of AutoCAD program- Organized accounts receivables information- Received shipments and organized materialsI joined this industry with virtually no knowledge of how the stone is fabricated or installed. I had previously worked in the construction industry, but it did not compare to what this job entailed. I had to be very flexible because of the state that this organization was in at the time. A new shop was being put together and management was in a constant shuffle. My role did not seem very clear in the beginning. On the first day, I was doing things a handyman would do not what a stone fabricator would, and I was confused because I wasn't given much direction. However, if I wasn't working then people would be looking. I really had to make sure that I was paying very close attention to everything and made sure to ask as many questions as I could while still working as hard as I could. Eventually the business grew substantially, and we were able to almost triple production. I learned how to do installations then when we hired on a dedicated installation team moved into learning fabrication. After we hired more dedicated fabricators I started learning how to do the CAD programming for the CNC machines. I also started to help with accounts receivable which allowed the office managers to focus on growing the business more. This job is very challenging at times because it could be physically demanding. You need to have high attention to detail, time management, strong communication, and the ability to problem-solve while thinking on the fly. The biggest struggle I had to overcome was seeing the big picture and finding value in my work when it didn't necessarily seem clear.

  • Spring Mobile
    Sales Representative
    Spring Mobile Jun 2015 - Sep 2016
    Loveland Colorado
    - Always in the #1 or #2 spot in sales for our store of 6- Took care of an average of 30-60 customers daily- Practiced sales pitches and techniques dailyThis was an incredible experience because I was brought onto the staff when the storefront was still being put together and wasn’t open for business. It was very challenging because there were so many sales metrics that had to be hit every month. To make any real money I had to go above and beyond the requirements which were not easy to do in this location. Throughout my time here we went through frequent management and staffing changes. I was able to move from the lowest sales to consistently the #1 or 2 spot each month. The customer was put first in every interaction. It was my goal to create a personalized solution for each customer or business that I worked with. It started with a genuine smile at the door which led to positive forward-moving conversation. At the core of Spring is the 5 S- Factors: Spirit, Simplicity, Self-Discipline, Sincere Integrity, and Solidarity. I have brought the extraordinary customer service skills that I learned while working here into my daily life as well as forward to other jobs since.
  • Telleco
    Apprentice
    Telleco Jun 2012 - Nov 2012
    Brighton, Colorado
This was a very small company consisting of my ex girlfriends dad, his wife, and his sister. I was his right hand man for the time that I was there. We did a lot of IT work for our clients. The coolest project we had was for the Thornton Fire Department. We created a network using antenna’s we strategically mounted on the roof tops of 3 different stations. This way all of their servers were connected and we could also remotely manage everything more efficiently. Our primary product was telephone systems that you would see in office buildings. We installed, ran cable, configured, maintained, and upgraded equipment in the server rooms.
  • Adams 12 Five Star Schools
    It Intern
Adams 12 Five Star Schools May 2010 - Jul 2012
    United States
As an eager high school student with a business mindset and a passion for technology this was a great beginning for me. I learned a lot about the inner workings of a large computer network for a school district. I had to communicate with teachers, other interns, and IT professionals daily. We maintained all the computer labs, computers in classrooms, tablets, and smart boards. We did a lot of updating, re imaging, and troubleshooting. This required a high attention to detail, the ability to follow a process, strong communication skills, and an intense independent work ethic.
  • The Blended Bean Coffee Co
    Barista
The Blended Bean Coffee Co Jan 2006 - Jan 2011
    Brighton, Colorado
My mom and her sister started this coffee cart as an effort to help teach youth about business while keeping everyone highly caffeinated. I worked here for a long time and learned a lot of valuable lessons. This was where I learned to run a cash register. Where I learned about punctuality. I learned how to multi task better because in a rush it would get a little overwhelming. I also learned a lot about customer service here because the people always wanted to talk! It was a great learning experience for me at a young age.
  • Native Flooring
    Apprentice
    Native Flooring Jan 2006 - Jan 2009
    Thornton, Colorado
My father started and owned this business for over 25 years. I would go and assist him as much as I could. I learned quite a bit about the flooring industry during this time. We focused on carpet mostly. It was a lot of very hard work and I can remember so many times that we would finish a house then he would say alright “just one more, I’m going to go grab the material and I’ll meet you guys over there”. Then we’d finish that one and he’d say, “alright, just one more guys!”. My hard work ethic is deeply rooted in this construction background which my dad instilled in me from a very young age. I will always work as hard as I can and will always give a high quality product.
