Creating individualised and collaborative therapy is vital. The most important thing I bring to my work with children and young people is experience. Not only the 5+ years experience and training I have in working with mental health and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, but the personal experience of going through the mental health system as a teenager and coming out the other side. This helps create the difference.I've met some incredible children and young people over the years. And I've helped them find creative and meaningful ways to make the most amazing changes in their lives. And this hasn't been a drawn out, long-term process. We're talking less than 3 months. By using CBT and SFT skills delivered in a simple and person-centred way, it shows kids why it's important, rather than ‘because the evidence says so’. Yet, for a lot of young people, the education system causes a disproportionate amount of stress and overwhelm. Here's where my passion lies. Creating change within schools to help generate positive conversations around mental health. Thus helping them become more inclusive environments for staff and students. That’s where the Whole School Approach comes in.I have developed and delivered many training sessions and webinars for schools across the region. These continue to receive high praise thanks to the practical applications they contain that are easy to put in practice. Topics I’ve delivered training on include:- Anxiety & Low Mood- Self-harm & Suicide Prevention- Validation & Empathy Skills- Resilience- Staff Wellbeing…𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦And not to blow my own trumpet, but my current average rating for knowledge by education staff is 4.8/5 (and improving). Whether it be Zoom or in-person, and to an audience of 10 or 200+, I’ve tackled it all before.All this done with a smile!
