Administration of over 300 Servers; Linux & Windows. These include new server set-up and configuration, patch management, security assessment testing (SAT) of servers, organize routine preventive maintenance; configure backup jobs and other adhoc activities like develop scripts required for routine operation e.g. backups, house-keeping, system monitoring etc.o Act as project lead in the design and review of new IT hardware and banking applications; conducting capacity planning as needed.o Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.o Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.o Develop and maintain a close relationship with vendors to ensure efficient and smooth project implementation and give guidance to ensure adherence to the group standards.o Act as the primary implementer for all systems changes which includes the core system and subsidiary systems running on Linux and Windows platform for all countries (Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Botswana, Kenya and Zambia) hubbed in the regional datacenter in Kenya.o Analyze problems to establish root cause and propose solutions to prevent recurrence.o Perform ongoing database and application performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.o Perform data restore and recovery.o Provide technical support and advice to the business for all projects and initiatives.o Drafting documentation for new systems procedures and processes and update existing ones.o In liaison with other support team, maintain and support ms exchange servers, AD and domain controllers.o Maintain up to date hardware inventory.

o Supervise shift members to ensure they carry out their assigned duties.o Ensure Start and End of Day for all systems has been done and agreed SLA are adhered.o Ensure reports are transferred to users on time.o Log issues/track problem and follow-up to ensure they are resolved.o Ensure system/application backups are successfully done.o Ensure integrity and confidentiality of data through controlled access to Data centre.o Ensure data restore and replication happens at disaster recovery site.o Ensure the business is well informed in situations where systems are late.o Data warehousing operations
