As a management analyst at Procentrix, I work to provide high-quality program delivery to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on its application layer modernization (ALM) program as a member of the management and oversight team. This complex program will further FERC's enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives so that it can better execute its mission. This position also provides me with a valuable opportunity to play a key role in building a $250m, seven year IT modernization program from the ground up.In this role, I will do the following:-> Act as the program manager's right hand in the management of the ALM program's first, $45m call order (part of a larger $250m BPA).-> Lead day-to-day PMO operations to support a ~50-person program team and ensure high-quality program delivery over multiple, concurrent projects.-> Integrate different Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe) into the program master plan.-> Interface with C-suite and director level government executives to maintain stakeholder engagement.-> Identify, track, and manage program risks while working with FERC's enterprise PMO to ensure any enterprise-wide risks are mitigated. -> Leverage Azure DevOps (ADO) to promote effective teamwork, maintain quality, and encourage adherence to Agile principles. -> Implement ADO and Power BI reporting to provide timely, actionable program intelligence to internal and external stakeholders at all program levels.-> Plan, organize, and execute trainings to provide a smooth onboarding experience to new program resources. -> Utilize ADO, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Apps to nurture self-reliance and collaboration among program resources.-> Coach resources on Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe to ensure different program teams practice the Agile methodology best suited to their work (and practice it well).-> Collaborate with organizational change management (OCM) experts to facilitate user acceptance and adoption.

I am starting my "Tour of Duty" at Cobalt as a Software Product Generalist. I will occupy this position for two years and work in three different departments for eight months each. (This description will be updated as I progress through the tour.) Cobalt describes the structure of this "Tour of Duty" is as follows: Part 1: ConsultingThe first part of the Tour will begin in our Consulting department working alongside our talented Project Managers on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Cobalt’s products and processes. Part 1 will begin with an intensive training course, in which the candidate will learn about software project implementation and the project management process. After succeeding in my previous role as a student assistant, I was selected for promotion to student supervisor over fellow student employees with more experience in the same role and at a higher grade level. As a student supervisor, I played an active role in hiring -- including sitting in on interviews and selecting promising resumes. Additionally, I made the schedule for all other student employees and myself each semester. I also played a key role in training new employees and providing them with valuable technical information. Although I worked, at most, 18 hours a week during the school year on a regular basis in this role, I frequently responded to questions from student assistants outside of my shifts. Additionally, I was permitted to work full-time over summers with other competent student employees due to my reliability, work ethic, and usefulness to the university.
