Xanterra's environmental commitment is exemplified through innovative programs in energy efficiency, waste minimization, sustainable cuisine and retail operations, transportation, and guest (5M visitors), and employee (3,000) education.• Under the leadership of the Director of Sustainability, I act as an internal consultant to support departments to reach our sustainability goals across nine hotels, four campgrounds, 31 guest food and beverage outlets, ten retail stores, horse operations, etc., within Yellowstone National Park.• Develop and manage new projects ranging from creating training materials for 3000+ seasonal staff, partnering with external vendors to divert waste (sheets and food waste) from landfill, and continually ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations. • Hire, mentor, and lead a team of four seasonal specialists to support field staff on projects such as composting, preparing for ISO 14001 EMS audits, and employee engagement. • Work closely with the corporate and regional supply chain teams to purchase environmentally safer chemicals, reduce single-use plastics, and identify vendors with "take back" programs to reduce waste.• Create reports, standard operating procedures, and newsletters/copy for internal and external stakeholders.• Co-submitted and was awarded a $200k National Park Foundation Circular Economy grant to support single-use plastic reduction across business partners in the Greater Yellowstone Area.
