Management and production of the University of Canterbury Motorsports electric Formula SAE car. A carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, open wheel, four wheel drive electric car.The work involved managing ten mechanical and mechatronics students, working with industry for parts manufacture, integration with the electrical team, being in the top management team of the car making critical decisions and personally designing and building the steering system for the car. Overall we achieved fourth in the 2018 Australian competition.

Produced feasibility reports, safety operation manuals for three previously unreliably extrusion lines and calibration of tooling. I was involved in the redesign and manufacture of spool winders to make the process fully automated.

I worked at Argus Heating three times (for 2, 3 and 11 weeks) in the engineering workshop as an apprentice, performing turning, milling, welding and maintenance of the factory’s machines. I was also a member researching, designing and ordering parts for an innovative project for the factory.
