Empowering people with the knowledge needed to better understand mental health and finance, teaching them how they may help themselves and others.

I help people to get out of debt and understand how money works so they stay out of debt, achieve their goals and have a good quality of life in the future. I also mentor, develop and motivate leaders to do this too. I am currently looking for people who are interested in earning £600-£1000 per month on a part time basis working a few hours per week but with the potential of a six figure income for the right person. I offer full training and a unique business model with a proven 40 year track record. As a Mental Health First Aid instructor, I deliver courses to company managers, staff or members of the public receiving Mental Health First Aid training. I am a confident facilitator with the ability to accurately and effectively transfer knowledge, information and communicate with learners to motivate, engage, and encourage empathy. I started a new scout group at St Peter's CoE School in Leeds. Started off with a Beaver Group (28 children) and then started a Cub Pack with 20 children 9 months later.As a GSL, I manage the scout group, provide leadership and support to every adult and young person involved with it. I support adults to make Scouting a success and help make sure that the group provides a welcoming atmosphere to all. My priority task are:• Ensuring the Group has a team of ‘fit and proper’ adults working effectively together and with others to meet the area’s Scouting needs.• Ensuring that all adults are adequately supported including induction, reviews and development.• Ensuring that a challenging and exciting Balanced Programme is carried out throughout the Scout Group and that all adults are supported in performing their tasks.• Resolving problems that may occur within the Scout Group.• Provide line management and support to the Leaders in the Scout Group, including setting objectives for their work and holding regular reviews and one-to-one meetings• Acting as a charity trustee of the Scout Group.• In addition, a key element of the role is to work with the Group Executive Committee to ensure the effective administration of the Scout Group.• Work with the District Commissioner, Deputy District Commissioner(s) and other Group Scout Leaders in the District to ensure that the District thrives and supports Scout Groups.

I encourage others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. I do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help. I am available to run Information Sessions for groups, organisations etc. I have been trained and supported by Alzheimer’s Society to run these sessions. Each Information Session lasts around one hour. I help people learn more about dementia and how they can help to create dementia friendly communities. There are information sessions running across England and Wales.

Supporting Ministers by providing first line responses / first drafts for briefings in respect of Parliamentary Questions and Treaty Official Cases about Equity and Community Development policies (Inclusion, Health Inequalities, Equality, Information Sharing to Tackle Violence, Domestic Violence & Abuse, Sexual Violence and Exploitation, Modern Slavery, Violence Against Women and Children, Ending gang and Youth Violence).

Working with pupils who have been predicted to achieve 5 A-C grade GCSEs, but who for a variety of reasons, are currently not reaching their full potential. This group - called the Battleground group - are Year 11 (aged 15/16).

I became the Director of Projects of NCL in 2006 and then in 2008 became the new Chairman of the Charity. NCL exists to support members of the public in and around Leeds of all ages to reach their full potential while contributing to the socio-economic wellbeing in the city. Key achievements:• Started the Leeds African Cup of Nations (LACoN) in 2007 with 4 teams which has now grown to 16 teams in 2011 and several thousand participants.• Successfully overlooked the transition of NCL from being a community group to becoming a registered Charity and a Company limited by guarantee.• Helped to start and launch the Supplementary School “Excel@NCL” which has received awards of recognition from the city and continues to grow • Helped to start and launch a quarterly magazine within the community

Community First is an £80million government-funded initiative that will run for four years, until March 2015. Community First Neighbourhood Matched Fund is an initiative that provides local communities with the means to address their own priorities:• Communities set up local panels in each eligible ward, and decide upon projects for funding in their area.• It is a matched fund programme, which means that every £1 provided in funding must be matched by a similar amount of in-kind donations (this means donations of cash, services, free products or volunteer time).• Funding has been allocated at ward level across every local authority in England. Eligible wards were selected on the basis of high levels of deprivation and significant increases in benefits claimants.
