Samuel Lipari has contributed 35+ Years Developing Supply Chain Technologies and Procurement Solutions for Healthcare markets.Working for family practice businesses and participating with group purchasing organizations in the mid 80’s by serving mass-merchandisers, automotive wholesalers and grocery distributors technology developments. MSC’s founder mastered an appreciation for integrated supply chain’s long before turning that experience to healthcare in the 90’s; consulting and implementing supply chain technology with Wellmark a subsidiary of Primark and CEO Joseph Kasputys; one of the first healthcare information systems (HIS) with electronic billing.Following Mr. Lipari's contributions with Wellmark he founded Physicians Management Group where he designed, developed, and implemented Material Management Information Systems (MMIS) for the non-acute healthcare markets. Because the technology was so successful Mr. Lipari then integrated the MMIS system on-line as the first medical supply chain platform, which was adopted but misused by several GPO’s to monopolize their discount contracting schemes. The GPO misconduct was investigated during Senate hearings from 2002 – 2006 by the U.S. Senate Judiciary Sub Committee on Anti-Trust in “Hospital Group Purchasing: Lowering Costs at the Expense of Patient Health and Medical Innovations.”Mr. Lipari is an expert healthcare supply chain strategist.
