In this role, I am responsible for helping to ensure that the general running of the society is as smooth as possible by being a helping hand to my colleagues and ensuring that I provide support to anyone who needs it. Furthermore, I am responsible for organising social events for our Society and guaranteeing that our members have opportunities to participate in events and activities outside of the day-to-day commitments of our society. Of course, due to Covid-19, the face of events is very different at the moment so I am looking forward to the challenge of finding alternative ways to draw in members and creating new and different opportunities for our members to enjoy themselves as part of the society.

I have had various responsibilities with this employer. From a waiter perspective, I have had to serve, clear and check on tables of guests to make sure they are fully satisfied at all times. Behind the bar, I have had to be quick on my toes and listen carefully to requests to make sure I get what the guest has asked for. In food prep, I have had to read recipes and follow instructions carefully to make sure the dish is created as the best quality it can be.

In this role, I was required to create and advertise social events that allow both members and non members of the society to get involved and feel part of the ethos of this community of people. It was my job to be able to manage a large group of people and cater to requests of various people at once. Furthermore, I have had some basic responsibility of collecting money also.

My employer sent me spreadsheets of data about their products, which I was then required to translate into French and input the translated data into a new spreadsheet. I had to choose my words carefully so they accurately portrayed the product whilst being easy to understand. They were so impressed they asked me to translate into Spanish as well.

I helped by communicating with Alumni to keep them updated with the projects happening at University. I maintained the bond between the university and its alumni by generating conversation with them about their life and experience at Uni, finding ways to keep the conversation alive and flowing.
