Project Manager for Gig Buddies with Thera Trust, enabling adults with a learning disability and autistic adults to live an active social life, and get out to more gigs. I currently manage Gig Buddies projects across Scotland. During my role as Gig Buddies project manager, I've been incredibly proud to help grow the confidence of the people we support in getting out into their local community. At its core, Gig Buddies is a project that tackles social isolation, but with my leadership it has also become a platform within the events industry for people with a learning disability and autistic people to have their voice heard. I've developed key relationships with many of Scotland's leading music venues, festivals, promotors and arts organisations including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, DF Concerts, Sneaky Pete's, and the RSNO. These relationships not only serve to offer opportunities to those with barriers to access, but enables myself, the people Gig Buddies supports, and my team to offer our experience, insight, and expertise, with a view to making events accessible for all. To date, this role has given me 8 years of experience supporting people with additional support needs to countless gigs and events. I regularly speak publicly about my work, and have been a Keynote Speaker/Panelist at events and for organisations including Fringe World Congress, Edinburgh Fringe Society, Wide Days, Independent Venue Week, and The Action Group.When not at a gig, I can usually be found in various Edinburgh record shops, or making my way up a munro.
