I work on New Product Introduction (NPI) where I oversee our Advanced Product Quality Planning: establishing the Quality Plan, reviewing quality documents (Process Map, Design/Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan, etc.), performing statistical analysis (Measurement System Analysis/MSA or GR&R), Process Capability studies) using Minitab, and reviewing First Part Approval (FPA/PPAP)I also work extensively with our Supply Chain: conducting System (ISO 9001/TS16949) and Process audits, and monitoring supplier performance using our web-based Statistical Process Control (SPC) systemI like figuring out how things work and coming up with solutions to problems. In each of the companies I’ve worked for I’ve successfully used Six Sigma and DMAIC methodology to resolved key issues, delivering significant results that gained the appreciation of not only my employers but of our customers as wellI also like learning new things and taking on new challenges. Like when I was tasked to be the administrator for our InfinityQS® Proficient™ SPC system, I had to figure out how to configure the system using only manuals and some sample projects from InfinityQS. Another example is when I worked on developing our Excel-based Data Entry Form. A key requirement was making the Form user-friendly so, I had to learn about macro/VBA programming. It is projects like these that I find most interestingI continue to look for opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skill as a Quality Engineer and to take on projects that will allow me to develop my skill set as a Six Sigma practitioner
