My wife Jennie and I embarked on a self-build project in the South West of England. We bought some land, drilled for our own water, produce all our own energy, and have started to grow some of our own food! In addition we're building our dream home; one that will enable multi-generational living and provide an outdoor-focused environment for our children whilst they grow up. They may even want to come back later in their own lives, who knows!

The organisation I led is responsible for all infrastructure technologies, service delivery, strategy and roadmaps (with a team of c 110 people and budget management of c£25million)Operational accountability for Data Centres, Networks, End User Services, Windows Server, Linux, Virtualisation Platforms, Database, Backup Infrastructure and Storage. Fully responsible for setting, driving and improving Key Performance Indicators.End-to-end accountability for driving improvement and change across a large infrastructure estate with a particular focus on Service Delivery, Business Partnership and Programme Management. An active member of the Architecture, IT and Business Leadership Teams contributing to wider business strategy.Accountable to the Bank board and to the regulator for all audit & attestation remediation together with adherence to relevant industry policy.
