I am pursuing a career in Information Technology/Cyber Security. Most of my life, I've experienced working in different job settings. Which allowed me to gain a number of different resourceful skills. I also have experience in running a business. I enjoy doing volunteer work for: people, organizations, communities, friends, family, and new business owners. Being able to help people has always been something I love. More recently, I indulged in my curiosity of Technology and Cyber Security.In 2022, I was accepted into the amazing Year Up program and decided to pursue the Information Technology/Cyber Security pathway. Since my younger years, I experimented with computers, cameras, and cell phones. In 4th grade, I created my first website. It was a social site that allowed people in my neighborhood to chat, watch Youtube, use Google, listen to instrumentals, and more! All in one place. The site lasted for about 3 years. During this, I was introduced to Computer Softwares like: Adobe, Photoshop, Microsoft, video editing softwares, etc. My freshmen year of high school, I created a web-series called Sedville's Stories. It was a TV style based drama show, set in Chicago. Production ended in 2012. Not only was I in charge of script writing but also: casting, directing, role-filling, and production. I learned a lot about the different types of cameras that goes into film making. This process taught me more about Computer Software and Hardware. Having to: repair cameras, lenses, replace memory chips, and understand how sunlight works, definitely helped build some of my skills in the Tech field. In 2013, I was accepted into the Discover The World of Communication program. High school students had the opportunity to live as college students for approxitmately 3 weeks. I chose to pursue the Computer Animation course. I got to expand my knowledge in computers, software, Adobe, camera tech, output/input devices, voice recordings, and more!Now, my dream is to become a Cyber Security Specialist. I've dealt with cyber attacks constantly and wasn't properly assisted with the ongoing issue. That situation motivated me to make a change and luckily, I get to help protect others from online attacks!
