Engineer, Insead’09, Samuel Morillon is currently an executive in South East Asia in a leading equipment provider in the energy sector. He has twenty five years' experience in technics and transformation management in heavy industry and energy both in Europe and Asia. He has successfully driven or participated to the set-up of 5 JVs, 3 spin-offs, 6 major global transformation programs. Volunteer since 1996 in oceans’ preservation organizations, he is passionate about the switch from fossil fuels to new energies and large related marine infrastructure projects. Samuel Morillon started his career in 1994 as a mechanical engineer at the French Atomic Agency. In 1996, he joins Michelin, world tire business leader, as a thermodynamic expert. With this company, he will built his fundamentals both in technics and leadership through experiences in manufacturing in France, new facilities construction and lean management projects in Asia (China, Japan, Thailand). In 2006, he integrates, as a COO, a young venture, Cybion, to develop and sell online business intelligence tools. The company meets success in 2008 in Italy and France especially in predictive analysis. In summer 2011, he joins the strategy team of Siemens in South-West Europe region to support the switch from traditional electrical and power solutions to digital and clean energies. He supports restructuring programs and portfolio transformations to better focus on profitable growth and future trends. It was the time of French first photovoltaic farms and first wind offshore tenders in Normandy/France. In 2016, just after JCPOA/nuclear agreement, he is sent to Tehran, Iran, as the local head to support new electrification and gas export related projects. Geopolitical situation brings him back to France in 2020. As CEO, he joins Siemens Energy France, new spin-off of Siemens energies related activities, and conducts the transformation of local O&G activities (Dresser-Rand Le Havre) and switch to renewables before taking over, in November 2021, company’s Asia-Pacific region. Samuel Morillon is married with 5 kids, 2 of them are still living with him. He is a CMAS 2** certified scuba-diving instructor.
