Digital Communications And Platforms Specialist
Current
Communications And Digital Platforms Officer
I became lead architect of the primary QCOSS web presence, ensuring pages and content are designed as needed and fit for purpose. This requires a strong technical knowledge of Avada for Wordpress and other plugins, as well as some light CSS, PHP and HTML coding. During 2021, I carried out a process to refresh the QCOSS website to overhaul navigation and user experience, not only better highlighting the day-to-day organisational work, but making content easier to find and access. I was responsible for developing, designing and delivering the interactive web version of the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 QCOSS Annual Reports for desktop and mobile devices, utilising the Wix platform. This is not simply limited to basic web design - this process pulls in photo and video content I have created during the year, in addition to team contributions. I also authored the report copy in 2020 and 2022.I currently lead the delivery of content on QCOSS' Community Door platform (Wordpress), including daily news updates, general content updates, and fortnightly updates to subscribers (Mailchimp). I also developed and delivered a sector networking forum to QCOSS' specifications with the Buddypress plugin. In late 2021 I completed a Vision Australia course on accessible digital content and provide QCOSS with advice on digital and general accessibility issues across desktop and mobile devices.
Communication And Media Officer (Content And Digital)
I joined QCOSS in 2018 to contribute to creating a Queensland with equality, opportunity and wellbeing for all. As a member-based organisation, our work aims to represent and serve the voices of frontline community services workers, as well as the interests of Queenslanders at large. In this highly variable role, I drew from a strong technical skill set to produce quality content and copy across many platforms, including Wordpress, CiviCRM, Mailchimp, YouTube, and any other platforms as required. A deep knowledge and understanding of hardware and equipment required to produce the content was crucial to performing in my role.As QCOSS continued to grow and leverage existing assets to deliver value-adds for the membership base, I was responsible for creating and uploading video packages to deliver on project work as required, and deliver high quality live streams of suitable events via YouTube - many for the first time. Adobe Premiere was used in post production pieces, with live streaming taking place via Open Broadcaster Software. I was responsible for driving all aspects of production from start to finish.I also managed, monitored, and reported on the organisation’s social media platforms, administered elements of the organisation’s membership processes and reporting, and managed production of content for the Queensland Government funded Community Door website.
