About Samuel Nullai

''Agi idup, agi ngelaban.'' As long as I live, I shall fight. The Iban quote above holds dear to me, as an Indigenous first-generation university student within the family. Growing up, opportunities did not come easily when living in Sarawak. I question this narrative, with thirst and hunger to bring about change to my immediate community, and to an extent Malaysia as a whole. I began my journey in advocacy during COVID-19, mostly in youth leadership, mental health, education, sexual and reproductive health rights, and everything in between. I believe that young people are the key to leading the future, thus creating platforms and dialogue for my fellow youth leaders to grow and develop themselves through experiential learning is crucial. Late 2023, I proudly co-founded a mental health non-profit, MY Mind Comrade, which focuses on destigmatizing mental health through community-based initiatives across Malaysia and empowering youth leaders in mental health. Currently we focus on three pillars; community engagement, campus engagement, and lived experience journalism. Equipped with my education background in Psychology, I believe in using the knowledge I've gained in advocating for positive social change through understanding the intersectionality of issues and challenging the status quo.For any opportunities, feel free to reach out; samnul20@gmail.com / samuel.nullai@mymindcomrade.org
