Aotearoa’s only LGBTQIA writers festival. Programme directing includes curating and developing the programme, liaising and preparing participants, and implementing the publicity for each festival.

I am a resource designer and communications expert with a strong commitment to community engagement and advocacy. My work includes:- Resources, Health Promotion and Design- Communication and Social Media- Illustration, Comic Art, and Graphic Storytelling- Advocacy, Engagement and Social Justice

For the last eight years I have provided freelance resource design and commercial cartooning for companies, individuals, not-for-profit organisations, and the New Zealand Government. I have been involved in numerous local art projects, and public murals, as well as being one of the founding members of the Dunedin Comic Collective.

Tutoring under the direction of Dylan Horrocks for COMD335 (Comics and Graphic Novels / Pukawaituhi me ngā Pakimaero Waituhi), COMD231 (Illustration / Pikitia Whakaari) and COMD241 (Visual Narratives). Responsible for delivering the tutorials and marking both written assignments and presentations. This position required excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of students to delve deeper into the content of the course.

Neighbours Day Aotearoa is a collaborative campaign organised and supported by Lifewise, Inspiring Communities, The Mental Health Foundation, Christchurch Methodist Mission and New Zealand Red Cross. Thousands of neighbours, organisations, local government and local businesses have been involved, bringing neighbours together over the last weekend in March each year.

In this role I was responsible for the development and support of Affinity Services' communications. This included design and communications strategies for both printed and e-media, and to showcase the dynamic work of our organisation as we work to create and sustain health communities together.

Working on an innovative project at the forefront of Positive Youth Development practices to set up a new youth-run, youth-led initiative to support young people's mental health and well-being in Auckland. Working to create positive changes within the mental health sector for the young people of Auckland. This involves project and event management, youth work, community engagement, resource design, and awesomeness.

Responsible for manning the national community helpline, developing the weekly national OUTLine newsletter, and completing administrative tasks. Developed a national fundraising and awareness campaign for OUTLine and RainbowYouth. A frontline employee for OUTline, and thus the first contact for new service users.

Responsible for the administration and management of the national youth website, Curious (www.curious.org.nz). This includes being actively involved in national campaigns, and helping to organizing the national youth hui, as well as beginning a national youth blog internship programme.

Between 2009 and 2010 I was employed in a number of public and community funded part-time roles. These mainly focused on designing and implementing health and relationship education resources and programmes for young people. In these roles I was required to coordinate and mentor a team of volunteers, and to deliver these programmes to young people. This work was self-driven, as I was solely responsible for much of the programme, and also required significant team-work and management skills as I often worked with a team of volunteers and young people. I worked with a diverse range of young people in Dunedin, on youth-led initiatives aimed at building resilience, educating and empowering young people in our community. My work involved a number of youth initiatives, and I always strove to ensure that the young people were heard and valued, receiving the best youth work service that I could provide.
