Motorsport has been at the center of my life for as long as I’ve been alive. I grew up just a few minutes down the road from Watkins Glen International. As a kid, my grandfather would take me to see NASCAR, IndyCar, Grand-Am or whatever else was taking to the track on a given summer weekend. But it wasn’t just the cars that drew me to racing, it was the colors, the brands, the graphics, and the tremendous sensory experience racing provided. Later on, of course, I came to realize that there’s an incredible amount of design, strategy, artistry, and planning that goes into creating these brands in motorsport and how we perceive them as racing fans. Today, I’m the Brand Manager at IMSA, a series I’ve been a hardcore fan of since my childhood. However, my path to this position is about as twisting and undulating as the corkscrew at Laguna Seca (See my job history below for that story). As such, summarizing my experiences and skillset is a bit tricky, but here’s the best I’ve come up with thus far. At the end of the day, I'm just a designer, for lack of a better term. An okay designer at that, nothing special. There are still plenty of things to do, things to learn, and places to improve. Creating is at the absolute core of what I love to do. Branching out from this core love of building are the domains I find deeply interesting, namely, motorsport. 🏁
