Jazz drumming requires impeccable listening skills, with 100% focus on your soloist to enhance a successful performance. Using a “do-it-yourself” mentality, I developed valuable business insights while promoting bands. I mastered demo production, marketing, and selling. I also learned to hire and fire band members, gaining an aptitude to manage people.I found the career I was born to do from a wise high school teacher who noticed I excelled in bookkeeping. He inspired me to pursue accounting. With vision and perseverance, I earned my CPA.I feel most alive working in a purpose-driven environment. When I landed a dream role in finance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the combined rhythms of music and numbers came together perfectly for me. With the help of my mentor, I mastered state and federal taxes, research for legal cases, small company recordkeeping, audit work, and financial statement preparation. Currently, as Senior Associate Director of Finance for one of the top MBA programs in the U.S., my experience includes managing finance in London, Singapore, and Hong Kong, where I’ve become known as an “unflappable” problem solver, methodically implementing the best solutions, even with quick turnaround pressure.It’s an honor to partner with the senior executive team to help ensure substantial organizational growth based on sound financial decisions.
