From January 2023, I enrolled in AS and A level mathematics and achieved 93% for AS level mathematics. In school, I scored Distinction in Advanced Math elective. What fascinated me the most were cryptography, numbers systems in computing (e.g. boolean, base64) as well as probability, statistics, differentiation and integration. I learnt how to apply mathematics in computing.During the holidays, I participated in a lot of activities and achieved some top points. I also learnt a few penetration testing and analysing techniques through using important tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Wireshark, Ghidra and Hydra, as well as some commonly known vulnerabilities through OWASP. Whenever I had the time, I would learn programming languages such as python, javascript, mysql, sql, html, css and bootstrap. I would also play with a few apps such as linux and Cisco packet tracer. I also learnt how to use Github. Through all programming, I learnt how to implement and organise algorithms step by step. Through all that I did, I picked up a few soft skills. First problem-solving, patience and perseverence in tackling tough challenges. This is an especially important skill when going to work when there are a lot of challenges faced. Giving up should never be the option. When faced with daunting tasks, break the challenge down into solvable components. When doing group projects or participating in teamed competitions, I learnt teamwork and effective communication. These are important skills to take to the working industry when working with colleagues.
