As a Health & Safety Coordinator, I support the implementation of the Corporate Safety Program at the site level by working with site teams to enforce legislative requirements and assisting them with its implementation under Kenaidan’s registration to the OHSAS 18001 Standard. This is achieved by:• Assisting the H&S Manager and site teams with the implementation of new or modified policies, procedures and initiatives to enhance the program (from putting recommendations forward for new ideas or changes to drafting policies and procedures).• Assisting the H&S Manager and project team(s) with the implementation of their site specific safety plans at the start of the jobs.• Monitoring daily the H&S program on site to ensure consistency with IMS procedures, legislative requirements and the site specific plan.• Working with the site team(s) to assist sub-trades and suppliers to address gaps in their safety programs.• Assisting the site(s) with the JHSC Meetings and WTC Meetings as required.• Following up on Third party inspections to ensure that specific requirements have been met.• Assisting the H&S Manager and project team(s) with the investigation of incidents and near misses.• Implementing safety communications including CETA Messages, Tool Box Talks, Bulletins etc.• Working with management to address safety violations through the disciplinary process. • Assisting with statistical reporting on accident trends, costs and frequency.• Assisting with the implementation of return to work programs for injured workers.
