Samuel Scutter Newton, a medical professional and financial consultant who currently lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada, is also extremely active with fraternal organizations such as the Shriners, the Freemasons, and the Royal Order of Jesters, an invitation-only division of the Shrine dedicated to fun, laughter, and merriment. Mr. Newton now serves as the Royal Order of Jesters’ National Director.While serving as a U.S. Air Force medic throughout the mid- to late 1960s, Samuel Scutter Newton rapidly ascended to the rank of Staff Sergeant and received multiple military commendations. When the Apollo 11 astronauts returned from the moon in 1969, Mr. Newton was among the team of elite medical specialists who assisted Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins through the period of physical examinations and biological quarantine they underwent upon their return to Earth.In 1969, Samuel Scutter Newton left the Air Force and the NASA medical team in Houston to enter the civilian work force as Vice President of Success Motivation, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas. In the early 1970s, he decided instead to continue his health care training at the University of Texas and Baylor University Medical Center. While studying at Baylor University, Mr. Newton specialized in the physiology of perfusion, the dispersal of blood through the circulatory system to the network of capillaries embedded in living tissue.After finishing his studies and relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, Samuel Scutter Newton went on to found Las Vegas Heart Lung Perfusion, Inc., where he ultimately provided perfusion services to hospitals throughout Nevada and California. After selling Heart Lung Perfusion in 1989, Mr. Newton set the stage for a second career as an investment consultant.
