Been involved in technical theatre for over 21 years. Built great connections and honed my skills. I still learn new things on every gig. I love it! In 2001, I started volunteering at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. I ran spot light, worked on stage crew and ran the light board. When I was 15 I began working the sound board for productions at the Civic Theatre; I've remained focused on sound since. I began sound designing in 2004 and started freelancing at area theatres in 2005. I have been contracted by Community Circle Theatre, Heritage Theatre, GVSU Opera, Mason Street Warehouse, GR Civic Theatre, and area high schools. Although a majority of my experience is in theatre and live sound reinforcement, I have been involved in corporate events and provide recording and DJ services. LaughFest, GR's Got Talent, and TEDx Grand Rapids are some events I've provided sound engineering for. In 2008, I had the privilege of sound designing The World Premiere of Tomorrow Morning at the Victory Gardens Green House Theatre in Chicago. I had to install the sound system, build sound effects, and set actor and band mics. Since 2017, I have designed and mixed over 200 productions for area theatres. Some favorites: the Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Ragtime, Hairspray, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Spelling Bell and Willy Wonka. I started my own production company, Epik Productions, in 2007. Specialities include, Theatrical Sound Design & Engineering, Vocal and Instrumental recording and DJ services for parties, weddings and school dances. I attended Grand Rapids Community College from 2005-2007 studying Music with emphasis in Recording. After taking 5 years off I returned to GRCC in the fall of 2012 to complete my degree. During my hiatus from school I focused on perfecting my craft and adding to my skills.
