I created this team to fix misalignment between the Technology and Vehicle Programme depts. This proved instrumental in the success of Whole Vehicle Type Approval. I planned and executed the software components of WVTA with on the ground support, which was recognised as the fastest approval programme for some time. - Agreeing the specification of software features with the product and software development teams, implementing scope and change management processes as a result. - Prioritising and aligning the delivery of features to key vehicle development milestones in the programme plus the asset build and allocation to test and validate the software. - Planning and process development for all aspects of this vehicle level software lifecycle and coaching members of the team in the appropriate areas to improve team efficiency
Project Engineer
Responsible for fault resolution on the Van programme. Collaboration with engineering teams across the programme and knowledge of all the systems and commodities required. My ability to manage, motivate and hold teams to account for their faults was widely recognised.Dubai press vehicles – I was tasked with taking 2 development vehicles, fixing all faults, implementing new features and raising the aesthetic to a “show standard”. This subsequently raised the whole standard of the fleet. This was turned around in 1 month and these 2 vehicles are seen in all Arrival-UPS marketing material. LabVan – Unblock software development and validation on the programme via the build of this Hardware in Loop rig. Manual electrical BoM created with a “just make it work” approach. All harnesses were built manually on sight and supplier harnesses were validated by the manually built harnesses. The rig was successfully built in 3 months and was used every day to test & validate software features.
Project Lead (Integrated Project Team Lead)
Responsible for the delivery of several major systems to the Ultrafan Demonstrator totalling over 40 major parts. Due to the nature of R&D, the requirements for these systems have changed throughout my time on the project and I have successfully guided the project team through these deviations from those originally defined. Several of these systems had fully defined concepts and are into tooling manufacture upon completion of my time here. Marking a significant milestone for the project. I was accountable for the following:P4 Compressor bleed air ducting system, in which we are pioneering the use of fire proof double skin elastomeric components within RR. Both HP and IP Turbine Clearance Control systems, managing an external Design team based in Madrid to produce concepts capable of withstanding higher pressures than those typically seen in a TCC system whilst remaining with the manufacturing capability of Rolls-Royce Hucknall.The new and novel MACOC system, which is fundamental to the operation of the Ultrafan Power Gearbox. This system comprises Machined, Cast, 3D printed, Pressed and fabricated components requiring multiple Integrated Project Teams to progress and release definition to the extensive supply chain.

within the Civil Aerospace sector. The Project focussed specifically on cost competitor benchmarking and identifying initiatives that can fed back into RR products through a product teardown. This is the first time that RR have undertaken such a project and throughout ownership involvement a total of £11.7m of potential cost savings were identified over the following 5 years.
