    UK Economic and Social Research Council funded thesis investigating “Corporate Responses to Climate Change Reporting Requirements in the UK” The thesis investigated the affects of climate change reporting on the performance and management of corporate business organisations. Is corporate reporting rhetoric coupled (or decoupled) from reality? The following objectives were addressed:1. Identify general patterns and approaches to climate reporting in the business community. The objective determined who is reporting on climate change, and what climate information is being reported and how. 2. Explain variations in climate reporting. The objective determined internal motivations and external influences behind climate reporting. 3. Discuss corporate responses to climate change. The objective determined what climate measures companies are undertaking, and the factors influencing corporate decisions to implement such actions. The research itself included:- Quantitative and qualitative analysis of 200 corporate websites and documents. - Engaging with and developing working relationships with 22 multinational companies.- 42 interviews were conducted with senior figures in companies across the Energy, Financial, Mining, Oil and Gas, and Water sectors.- 20 interviews were conducted with individuals representing one of the following stakeholder groups: UK Government MPs, Civil servants, Regulators, Consultants, and not-for-profit organisations.
