Leading the way towards intelligent risk modelling that can help the society to maintain the value of forests in the face of climate change.

Mainly conducting research on the development of novel remote sensing methods for mapping plant water content and measuring tree health using lidar (terrestrial, airborne), multispectral lidar and UAV-based multi- and hyperspectral imagery. I'm using these remote sensing tools to understand tree decline and tree mortality in the face of global change. Also involved in teaching of these subjects.

In my PhD I am studying new remote sensing technologies for detecting declined forest health at several scales. The measurement technologies include multispectral LiDAR and thermal infrared remote sensing.

Master Thesis Project for Centre of Excellence in Laser Scanning Research in cooperation with Arbonaut Ltd.Topic of thesis: Effect of forest health and structure to the relative surface temperature captured by airborne thermal imagery – Case study in Norway Spruce-dominated stands in Southern Finland - coordination of international cooperation for an article based on the master thesis project- data analyses using ArcGIS and R- visualization & presentation of results- remote sensing applications

Working on developing new methods for detecting bark beetle damaged trees and forest in Finland using infrared thermal remote sensing and airborne scanning LiDAR.- in situ measurements and forest inventory- LiDAR point classifications & preparation of data for analyzes

Participating in the Finnish Centre of Excellence project. My different tasks included:- development, design and impelementation of a device used for measuring light levels right under the canopy of pine trees- measurements of water potential with a pressure bomb and osmotic concentration - measuring gas exchange of pine needles and aspen leaves in the SMEAR II -station's phototower with the Walz GFS-3000 including calibrations and maintenance- installation work in the SMEAR II -station's 127 meter high mast- input and organization of measurement data

The traditional forestry students christmas tree trade. We sell and deliver high quality christmas trees to companies and private customers. We are a professional academic organisation with full service from forest to decoration. Our customers also include the President of Finland since 1963.My responsibilities included:- communication with old clients and acquiring of new clients- graphic designing of marketing materials and advertisements- website upkeeping- organising and excecuting decoration installations- taking care of christmas tree sale points- hiring tree sellers- customer service

Participating in the Finnish Centre of Excellence project. My different tasks included:- measuring photosynthesis of different aged pine needles (Pinus sylvestris) and spruce (Picea abies) with Walz GFS-3000 including data analysis, needle area, dimension and weight measurements as well as calibrations and maintenance of the Walz GFS-3000- construction and maintenance work at the SMEAR II station including installation work up in the 127 meter mast- data collection and calibration of LI-COR LI-7700 at different measuring sites

I was working as a substitute teacher for different periods of time. The sum of work days is 170.I taught mainly natural sciences but also mathematics, English, Finnish, history, joinery, music, arts, information technology and Swedish.
