Headed Manufacturing for Writing Instruments Category. Implemented Just in time, through a combination of technology, Lean supply chain, and business process re-engineering initiatives. Helped bring down supply chain inventory from 65 day of sales to less than 27 days, resulting in almost tripling the inventory turn, over 85% reduction in obsolescence cost, and improving freshness index from a range of 2-8 months, to 0.5 to 2 months.Led the environmental friendly packaging initiative, leading to replacement of over 80% of volume from plastic to paper based. The Govt Initiative frizzled out, but ITC's initiative is still on.

Headed all India Quality and Process Excellence for all product categories of ITC's Stationery Business. Establish a systematic Quality Management and Continuous improvement System for the SBU. - As a long-term strategy - designed metrics for periodic review - Designed and implemented a comprehensive Supplier Quality Improvement Program - Resulted in reduction of defects to 1/10th of baseline in 3 years. Lead the implementation of various IT systems (digitalization, smart manufacturing initiatives) - Led SAP Quality Module implementation. - Incorporated Statistical Process Control and Lean Supply Chain model in to a custom developed MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for 36 suppliers / 3rd party manufacturing units.Led multiple Business Process Re-engineering and Lean Six Sigma projects, with estimated bottom-line impact of USD 5.7 million (INR 40 crores) to the supply chain. Led (vehicle integration) cross functional team of engineers and designers, to deliver commercial vehicle development programs.Coordinated a vehicle development project, from design, development, proto build, testing and design modifications, leading to the launch of a new commercial truck, using QFD, and modular design.Used FMEA to brainstorm and predict failure modes at product level, and manufacturing process level. Did a project on “Computation of Accurate Distance function using marching methods.” Developed a user defined function (in C language) for FLUENT software. Useful in study of near wall phenomenon in thermo hydraulic processes.
