What a joy it's been building up U-turn from a small soup kitchen into an industry leader in the homeless rehabilitation space. During my time at U-turn we * established the phased rehabilitation journey that helps homeless people leave the streets & pioneered the use of Occupational Therapists to rehabilitate homeless people & grew the number of service centres threefold* established the U-turn retail operations and grew that to have 7 stores, an ecommerce opeation and the laundry facility, and * transformed our information systems to be truly world class: we implemented Salesforce in 2006 to power all our client work. We now boast a fully integrated marketing and accounting systems to power all our learning as well as supporter & volunteer interactionsThe above saw us move from less than 300 touch points a year to over 52000 touch points pa, while from a staff and champions point of view we went from 4 staff to over 80! Phenomenal growth by any standards & we thank the Lord for allowing such incredible growth!

I was part of a project management team with specific responsibilities of managing the budget and headcount on the project as well as planning activities. It was a 5 year project that employed on average 80 individuals from Schroders and up to 300 individuals with the outsourcing partner.
