● Managed a Quality team for two operation sites which consisted of over 80 quality inspectors, supervisors and managers. They assisted with liaising with customers on quality audits and KPI reviews● Led the quality audits on site to ensure all processes complied with the stipulated IS0 13485 and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations● Set the KPIs and DPM targets and drove quality and yield improvement at the operational level● Compiled and reviewed the US FDA (Federation of Drug Administration) pre-market submission packages. These submissions were in relation to medical gloves and were mandatory for any new glove development. Approval meant the ability to sell the products in the US● Managed a weekly quality report card and KPI meetings with key customers. These were structured to develop an action register for key items on a regular basis. It became a focal point of discussions with customers to continue driving quality improvement.

Johnson Electric is the world’s biggest electrical AC / DC motor manufacturer with headquarters in Hong Kong● Led a team to characterize motor performance and reliability ABR (Application Base Reliability) testing for a variety of motor products● Engaged with customers on NPI (new product introduction) qualifications and all test plan development●Managed a sizeable team for design qualification testing, tear downs and benchmarking testing.● I successfully expanded the reliability lab capability with fully automated test stations. The motors were tested on the automatic test rack with intended running conditions, fully automated with counters and timers to check cycle numbers and hours etc. Overall, this move improved the throughput of testing tremendously. Automation also led to more consistent results.● Contributed to cost savings for the AC motor in blenders through qualification testing & via Kaizen Event . We embarked on initiatives for alternative materials and for validating components in motors. These efforts resulted in an overall bill of material cost reduction.

A Boston-based developer and marketer of innovative, high quality consumer products for the home and creator of the familiar Shark® and Ninja® brands● Led test engineering across the firm’s China operations and led all design assurance strategy and warranty return management● Maintained oversight and was accountable for manufacturing quality and reliability test development● Also executed all new programs at supplier premises.● Established ongoing reliability test protocols for the Shark® and Ninja® products which involved periodic sampling ABR. This helped with early issue discovery and the reduction of the quality defective rate of our steam mops● Developed the Root Cause Analysis processes and collaborated with CMS to discover the cause of field returns for our steam cleaners. ● Championed and structured monthly KPI report cards provided to the senior management team on ORT, the yield improvement action register, quality return issues and resolutions. We focused successfully on our priority list to drive the activities in the Contract Manufacturer’s site and achieved quality expectations

Formerly Honeywell Consumer Products Inc, Kaz (Far East) Ltd is a market leader in consumer appliances and medical products and is now acquired by Helen Of Troy● Provided a leadership role in all our strategy development● Led and managed a sizeable quality organization including the laboratory, factory quality and SQE in order to meet the organization's quality goals● Set up the accredited labs to meet the ISO17025 standard for inhouse product certification● Established quality KPIs for Operations, Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and the lab. This was done to support profitability and the introduction of new programs● Led and managed the supplier audit process for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. ● Led the continuity of our QMS (Quality Management System) in both the operations and lab, leading to ISO17025 accreditation● Established quality metrics and drove significant improvement in IQA (Incoming Quality Assurance) defective rate for top 10 defective parts, outgoing inspection lots FPY improvement and in process RTY improvement for fans and heaters● Successfully led the lab accreditation and qualified under UL CTDP to perform safety tests in the lab. ● Established a structured audit plan for the cGMP / medical product audit at the operations site and CMs (contract manufacturers). This improved compliance with effective CAPA (corrective action preventative action). As a result, there was no significant deficiencies /fallout as a result of the audit effort● Developed the supplier audit management protocol for the Tier 1 and a few critical Tier 2 suppliers. ● Led a Kaizen project to evaluate slow-moving parts which was fully validated via verification testing. ● Project managed the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certification at the plant, comply with the new RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC● Set up and managed the root cause analysis team and drove warranty reduction in collaboration with the contract manufacturer.

This was formerly Black&Decker, an American manufacturer of power tools, accessories, hardware, home improvement products, home appliances and fastening systems for worldwide markets.● Spearheaded design assurance strategy for new product introduction for seven Operations sites across Shenzhen, China● Led product compliance and certification submission. Also carried out reliability test development and execution● Managed cost improvements in all programs within the R&D organisation● Successfully certified the Test Lab under the UL CTDP scheme according to ISO17025 Standards. I set up the reliability test procedure and metrology lab FAI process for new product qualification as well as off-tool parts measurement. This was done for global launch programs. This initiative saved approximately HKD$3 million / annum over the past four years, primarily due to our building up internal labs qualification / certification testing capability● Led the product benchmarking and tear down analysis which provided good input to the designer on competitor performance. This led to ideas for cost improvement projects and new program features● Project managed & qualified products for cost savings across all projects in the R&D organization which saved HKD$19 million over the course of four years.

Black &Decker is an American manufacturer of power tools, accessories, hardware, home improvement products, home appliances and fastening systems for worldwide markets.● Led new product development for steam irons, toaster components, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and ECN (Engineering Change Notice) release● Was in charge of plant-wide product safety and inspections by the UL FIS and IPI audit teams. These are production safety tests for high potential, current leakage, arcing and isolation testing for power supply● Developed the product qualification plan and approbation submission Over this four year period, I led the Engineering BOM (Bill of Materials) creation in the ERP system and routing. Achieved BOM cost accuracy of over 99.5%. I also developed two new steam irons for the European and US markets and developed several heating elements for toaster ovens - on time and on cost. Additionally, I led the product transfer of over 20 SKUs and NPI of steam irons from Singapore to Malaysia within schedule. Overall, as a result of effective project management, there were significant cost savings in the R&D organization which resulted in great savings over the past four years.

Astec is a multi-national company renowned for switching power supply design and manufacture, It is now acquired under Emerson Over this one year period, I was responsible for developing ATE testers and interface cards as well as testing jigs for Power Supply Testing for production purposes.I developed the four-in-one Automatic Safety Test Station sequencing the Hipot, leakage current, arcing and isolation test, the aim of which was to validate the product during assembly. These are mandatory tests required by regulatory agencies before a product is released.
