Chief Operating OfficerFarm Carbon Toolkit Aug 2020 - PresentThe Farm Carbon Toolkit (FCT) is an independent, farmer-led enterprise. We support farmers to measure, understand and act on their greenhouse gas emissions while improving their business resilience for the future. We are a practical outfit, experienced and trusted to go down the farm track to support and empower farmers on their journey. We also facilitate peer-to-peer learning and applied research on farm and soil carbon - run the Soil Farmer of the Year Competition - and operate one of the most popular farm carbon calculators in the UK. I have been leading the operational management and helping shape the strategy of FCT as it goes through an exciting period of growth. This includes working with colleagues to create valuable and empowering products and services for farmers and the wider agricultural system, and aspiring to be the number one, trusted, go-to experts on farm and soil carbon. -
Nuffield Farming Scholar 2020Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust Oct 2019 - PresentExploring the excitement around regenerative agriculture - how valuable and transformational is the framing for organisations across the food and farming sector? This scholarship provides an opportunity to visit farms around the world, to understand how regenerative agriculture is being understood, incentivised and implemented by different farmers. Combining with my previous work at Forum for the Future on this topic, I will explore how taking a deliberate systems approach can help us understand how to bring regenerative agriculture into the mainstream - and if this happens, what might our food system look like then? -
