CurrentCoordinate 10th grade English curriculum (Global Perspectives), overseeing onboarding of new faculty, designing new units and assessments, leading meetings of 10th grade English faculty, facilitating communication with administration, and co-teaching the parallel interdisciplinary course (Global Humanities), designed to reinforce skills and content comprehension through overlapping texts, historical periods, and assessments.Design and teach 12th grade electives (Medieval Literature, Finding Meaning in Other Worlds) as well as 11th grade English (American Voices).Co-develop and co-teach Winter Term (January 3-week intensive) courses- Building Books: the History of Books and Bookmaking (2024)- El Camino; a reflective, empowering hike across northern Spain (2023)- Artificial Intelligence: Fact and Fiction (2022)Founder and Chair of LGBTQ+ adult affinity group, designed to create community for LGBTQ+ employees, brainstorm ways to better support and attract LGBTQ+ students, and make recommendations to leadership to further the school’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.Act as English Department representative on the Diversity Leadership Committee, supporting the Dean of DEIB by crafting mission statements, reviewing data, and making policy recommendations.Advise a cohort of students, communicating constantly with parents, teachers, Learning Center staff, Health Center and counseling staff to coordinate the best support possible for my students.Foster a supportive and inclusive dorm environment as a dorm parent, providing mentorship and guidance to students, supervising weekend activities, and managing unexpected situations as they arise.Facilitate afternoon Community Service programming at local Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Cor Unum Meal Center, local therapeutic horse farm, and other community organizations, fostering positive relationships between students and the community.
