Improved service to patients and minimize waste/rework due to recollects resulting from entry errors. 4. Potential to gain new insights currently not visible (through business intelligence from reporting). eOrdering of pathology tests by Doctors has the potential to reduce costs to the Business associated with pre-analytical errors stemming from: ordering, data entry and specimen collection/handling. eOrdering can provide business intelligence on turnaround times and “leakage” (i.e. the number of orders initated, but no specimens collected). eOrdering can also improve pathology requesting for the Doctor, provide order status and tracking and access to Decision Support at the point of eOrdering. The eOrdering capability will be made available through Medical Director, General Release (~17,000 GPs across Australia) to provide a substantial market reach, maximising the benefits to both SDS Pathology and its clients
