Global Formula Racing - a student-run organization - designs and manufactures a formula-style racecar to compete globally each year. I oversee the design, simulation, development, and manufacture of the aero-package and suspension components. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Review component design• Aero & mechanical design• Head design progress meetings• Aero mold machining• Teach CFD and FEA simulation• Teach GD&T Basic Principles• Teach machine speeds & feeds• Teach detailed drawing basics• Teach DFMA principlesMy research was to develop a new CFD simulation methodology to design a better overall aerodynamic package using a JAVA script to automate the setup and meshing of a multi-attitude aerodynamic study. The vehicle attitudes considered included heave, braking, and cornering. The development of this simulation process involved:• Turbulence model selection • Create mesh generation method • Perform mesh sensitivity study• Validate model through physical testing• JAVA script to convert half-car to full-car model• JAVA script to modify simulation parameters• Develop a post-processing method• Create documentation for incoming engineers• Develop method to compare aerodynamic designs

I designed the outboard system of the racecar for the 2019 season which included the upright, clevises, and braking system. I collaborated with various sponsors to manufacture each component in a timely manner. Designed two cabling fixtures for two different machines with proper cable routing and designed a universal fore-line fixture for all machines produced by Lam Research. The fixtures were designed to remove the manufacture of the cabling harnesses and the various fore-line assemblies off the critical path or outsource their manufacture
