I have more than 8 years of experience in private and development sector. I am a multitasking and independent individual involved in writing grants, designing and managing surveys, handling administrative and operations work, liaising with government stakeholders and government affiliated institutions, data management and analysis, writing reports and paper for peer reviewed journals. Specifically, my topics of interest are policy analysis of malnutrition and food insecurity in developing countries, although my work has mostly been focused on India. I have developed pathways and frameworks for problems based on my experience gained from extensive field visits, and data driven analytical approaches. To this end, I have worked on problems related to quality protein foods required to reduce the risk of quality protein deficiency in India and, the scope and feasibility of providing millets through Public Distribution System at the national and state level in India. I was also involved in an intervention program on scaling up the production and distribution of double fortified salt and understanding its economic implications through its effect on wages. I have extensively studied supply chains and mapping the linkages between consumption, distribution and production of various quality foods such as pulses, milk, green leafy vegetables, chicken and egg as well as the impact of cash transfers on food security during COVID-19. I have worked on how reduced energy requirements could have an impact on the estimation of prevalence of undernourished in India. I was part of dashboard development team for the TATA- NIN (Tata Trusts and National Institute of Nutrition, India) Centre for excellence in Public Health Nutrition which provides a platform for understanding nutrition value chains using various datasets starting with production of foods, their distribution and intakes, and the linkage to disorders related to nutritional deficiency and excess. Previous to my last job, my research stint in private sector was focused on market research and healthcare research. I have also worked on last mile delivery with a restaurant marketplace start- up where I was in involved in planning and implementing strategies for business growth. In terms of my educational background, my highest degree is Masters in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.
