I’m a graduate from Monash University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (honours) and with full Australian work rights. I have three years of diversified experience in technical sales and engineering project management sectors. In my role as a Project/Sales Engineer for Trade Promoters Pvt Ltd which is the authorized dealer for Cummins Inc USA for Sri Lanka and Maldives. In this role I directly reported to the General Manager of the Engine Business Unit where I mainly deal with generator drive engines, construction engines and low kilowatt marine generators. In my first year as a Sales Engineer, I was able to generate a revenue of USD 350,000.00 and my main client was Sri Lanka Navy, where I supplied 6 nos 12.5 KW Marine generators where I worked from initial bid preparation complying the tender requirements to negotiations to commissioning. Another notable project I worked on involved supplying a Cummins engine for a fire pump application. In this project, I meticulously reviewed the technical requirements provided by the customer. Due to the project’s complexity and the high expectations of the customer, we engaged in numerous rounds of negotiations and meetings. In this role, I successfully combined my technical expertise with my interpersonal skills to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions. My ability to break down complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to non-technical stakeholders has been key to securing and maintaining long-term client relationships. I also worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Asset Engineering Pvt Ltd and I was dedicated for the Kadawatha to Meerigama Central Expressway Project which is 37 KM long. My tenure at Asset Engineering was marked by my leadership over a diverse team comprising foremen, welders, technicians, administrative staff, heavy vehicle drivers, and machinery operators. A pivotal aspect of my role was overseeing routine services and maintenances, breakdown repairs and storing minimum spare parts for the machinery and vehicle fleet and, I was instrumental in the implementation of GPS and fuel monitoring systems within our machinery fleet amidst the ongoing construction activities.This role enabled me to intensively develop my planning, technical, coordination and project management skills. Additionally, I had the privilege of reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, providing insights into the machinery department’s performance and its contribution to the company’s revenue.
