Klingman's Furniture and Israel's Designs for Living were both very prominent Grand Rapids area furniture stores with a combines 171 years in business. Both companies offered hundreds of name brand furniture options for customers for both personal and business use. They later expanded to offer accent furniture, accessories, clocks, dining rooms, home entertainment, lighting, mattresses, office furniture, upholstery services, wall decor and mirrors and well as interior design services. They both opened up show rooms that led many design professionals to widely respect the companies. Due to the recession, both companies took a hit and they were eventually bought out/closed.It was a true privilege to work for these companies over the span of 10+ years. I held the position of office assistant but had to wear many hats over the years helping in any and every department within the company as needed.
