I am currently an in-house Software Testing coach at FDM Group. I am involved in training Manual and Automation testing services to perspective delegates. I run classes that provide trainees with the knowledge they require to, gain the ISTQB qualification, carryout manual testing (along with test planning and reporting), code OOD using Java, create automated tests using Selenium Webdriver and Cucumber (including using the page object model and creating assertions) and save and collaborate on code using GitLab (uploading and branching). I also help trainees learn additional skills if the client requires them such as, C# Webdriver and Specflow and API testing using Postman and Rest Assured. Outside of Software Testing I also coach courses on SQL and html/css. Furthermore I am the course owner for the Software Testing stream meaning that I am responsible for amending and updating material alongside creating new test material when the need arises.

I worked as a test co-ordinator at HSBC working on various projects small and big in order to ensure good quality products are delivered in a timely manner to the market place.In my time with HSBC i have helped deliver new browser and mobile applications. My experiences include:- Writing and updating test plans- Owning test phases including UAT through to implementation testing such as live testing.- Helping to improve processes such as exploratory and regression testing- Being flexible in my role so that when required i can test or defect manage to provide the most amount of value were its most needed- I have line managed multiple testers providing feedback and advice when needed including carrying out 1 to 1 meetings- I went to Saudi Arabia for a month to train business testers based there. It was challenging but rewarding training a team from another continent.

When I first joined Barclay's I began as a manual tester running core release functionality scripts, regression testing, defect re-tests and exploratory activities.After 3 months I was chosen to become a defect manager/onshore test lead of myBCA app. Within this role I learnt how to track defects, run defect calls with key stakeholders, liaise with the development team on the priorities of defects and operate with an onshore and offshore team so that testing can be well coordinated.

Whilst carrying out my PGCE I was placed in a challenging secondary school. Whilst I did not pursue a teaching career I learnt a lot of valuable skills that I use in my day to day activities. These include;• Organisational skills as I had to not only organise my classroom work but organise my pupils so they could achieve.• Presentation skills as I had to deliver at-least three classes a day to a demanding audience.• Mentoring skills as I had to motivate pupils and communicate new ideas in a coherent way so that they were understood.• Interpersonal skills as I had to learn to interact with a variety of different pupils in order to motivate them and a multitude of teachers in order to learn and convey ideas about the teaching practice.
